Why I Blog

I blog because I have opinions and experiences to share.  I have a voice to be heard, but few people to share it with in my actual social circle.  I’d say my philosophies on life, business and creativity are semi-radical, or at least too radical to express to my teachers, professors, parents and friends.

I blog for mostly selfish reasons.  It helps me vent, and it helps me think ideas through.  I’ll go into a post with an unsure opinion on a topic, and finish the post with a clear opinion of what I was trying to say.  Writing is an important skill, and you can gain insight on one’s intelligence and competency by their written thoughts.  By blogging, I’m improving the correlation between my thought and expression.

I blog to help other people by sharing my weaknesses and how I’m dealing with them.

I blog to help other people by discussing my strengths and how I developed them.

I blog because it’s productive, and having a positive influence on my readers, or any influence for that matter, is important to me.

If I can help one person realign their true interests and passion with their career, I’d consider my blog successful.

I used to keep a physical journal, manically scribbling my thoughts through sweaty New York subway rides.  I transferred the physical journal to a blog, and have been writing ever since.

I blog because, well, I have to.
